The Association for Computers and the Humanities (ACH) invites nominations for this year's elections. We are electing three Executive Council members to four-year terms and one to fill a 1-year vacancy, and seek candidates who want to advance the field of digital humanities by helping to run the ACH.

The ACH is very pleased to announce a partnership with DHCommons meant to broaden our successful digital humanities mentorship program. The ACH's mentorship program matches newcomers to the digital humanities with experienced advisors in the field for job market advice, networking, and professional guidance.

In just three months, our microgrants are already starting to bear fruit. Earlier this week, Amanda Visconti published her project, View DHQ, which provides visualizations of citation networks in the Digital Humanities Quarterly.

The ACH will again be organizing a Jobs Slam during its annual general meeting at the DH2012 Conference in Hamburg (July 19th at 12:30pm). The Jobs Slam is a lively event and a chance for employers to get the word out about upcoming jobs as well as for prospective employees to introduce themselves to everyone present.

The Zampolli Prize is a awarded every three years by The Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations (ADHO) in recognition of an outstanding singular achievement in the Digital Humanities. 

Last month, the Association for Computers and the Humanities (ACH) began an experiment in grassroots idea-generation and transparent agenda-setting.

In 2012, the ACH is working toward more open and transparent agenda-setting. We need you to help us better serve the international digital humanities community -- by generating new ideas for ACH to explore, and prioritizing items already on our radar. Please join in!
